One To One

Funded since 2014

One to One is a unique children’s literacy program that connects elementary school students who struggle with reading with caring volunteer literacy tutors. By reading together once or twice per week, children in One to One's literacy program can practice their reading in an environment where it's okay to take risks and make mistakes, helping them to gain self-confidence and social connection—and to unlock their full potential.

Why we fund One To One
Literacy is critical, and One to One’s volunteer-driven program ensures kids have the reading skills they need to thrive at school and in life—as well as the confidence that comes with mastering those skills. Their approach is highly scalable, as they’ve proven by expanding from a tiny organization to one that partners with schools in many regions.
